The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) is for those seeking to gain a qualification accredited by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) to teach specialised early years learning and developmentpursuing a career in children’s services coordination, early childhood research, policy formation, quality regulation and assessment or positions involving early intervention for children with special needs.

Study pathways

Students who exit after Semester 3 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, will be qualified to teach in early childhood settings (children aged 0-5 years) only. School leavers applying for the bachelors of Arts, Design, Music or Science at the University of Melbourne can secure a place in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) at the same time through the Graduate Degree Packages program, subject to meeting entry requirements.
