Master of Agribusiness

This program enables students to make effective decisions in the context of the food and fibre businesses, spanning input suppliers to primary producers to wholesalers, processors, retailers and consumers in a competitive, consumer-directed market. This course is available online or on campus. Online delivery includes week-long residential subjects. Students develop leadership potential, business and innovation skills, and an understanding of current and anticipated industry needs. Industry is directly involved in the design and delivery of the program. Students benefit from a focused learning environment involving international university partners, interacting regularly with other students, academic staff, and industry mentors and from active, extensive networking through the annual residential program and electronic assignments, tutorials and frequent online interaction.

Entry Requirements:

An undergraduate degree with a weighted average mark of at least 65%; or a graduate or postgraduate certificate in any discipline with a weighted average mark of at least 65%; or a graduate or postgraduate diploma in any discipline, with a weighted average mark of at least 65%; and at least two years' relevant professional or management experience, or an honours degree in any discipline or equivalent; curriculum vitae or resume; two academic referee reports; statement of up to 500 words.

Structure:

150 credit points of study. The core comprises six subjects (75 credit points). The course includes five-day intensive programs at the beginning of the first (Leadership), second (Business Strategy) and third years (Managing Risk). While the Leadership subject is the preferred starting point, given its cohort development role, it is also possible to start mid-year. The program will be delivered to students as they work in their home or office primarily using online, web-based delivery.

Completion of an honours program or a graduate diploma in a related discipline may give an advanced standing of up to 50 points into the Master of Agribusiness. On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate with grades averaging 65%, students can apply to articulate into the Master of Agribusiness with 50 points' credit.
