Drawing on the best expertise from the Melbourne Medical School, Melbourne Dental School, the Melbourne School of Health Sciences and the wider university, the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching is a year of study that will provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to take their teaching to a higher level. It will also introduce students to an exciting group of clinical peers who share their passion for teaching.

Structure
Participants may select either the standard mode of delivery where teaching for two subjects is spread across a semester or intensive delivery where teaching for two subjects is completed during one intensive week of delivery. Study load options: Full load option: Participants will attend four full-day seminars once per semester, completing two subjects per semester. Half load option: Participants may apply to undertake just one subject per semester and thus complete the Graduate Certificate over two years. Choosing the half load option will mean participants complete Effective Clinical Teaching in Semester 1 and Assessing Clinical Learners in Semester 2 in the first year.

- Entry-to-practice degree or equivalent in a health discipline
- Or bachelors degree or equivalent in another area and three years' clinical teaching experience
- Plus involved in the delivery of clinical teaching.
Study pathways
The Graduate Certificate is the first in a suite of award courses for clinical teachers being offered as part of the E.X.C.I.T.E program. The program provides a pathway from the Graduate Certificate to the Graduate Diploma and Masters courses in Clinical Education for those who are interested in further developing a career in this field.
