Graduate Certificate in Business Informatics

University of Canberra

This program is designed to meet the needs of graduates of any discipline who wish to come to an understanding of the ICT field and its impacts; graduates of business, government or commerce who wish to come to an understanding of the ICT in organisations; ICT graduates who wish to examine an area of informatics knowledge in depth; and ICT professionals with no tertiary qualification but extensive relevant work experience who wish to qualify for admission to further study at graduate diploma and master level. Graduates will develop some of the knowledge and skills required of business analysts, who can mediate between organisations and ICT. Graduates may find work as business analysts, systems architects, or information systems managers. These people need to understand the intent and context of systems. They must be able to address issues of work practice and information needs beyond purely ICT based solutions and understand people and organisations, including impacts of actions on the business as a whole and interactions between people rather than just interfaces to computer systems.
