This program provides professional preparation for people seeking a career as an Exercise Physiologist. Students will develop a broad range of technical, analytical and communication skills to address the needs of clients in a clinical rehabilitation setting. Students will develop skills in exercise pre-rehabilitation and rehabilitation design to prevent and manage chronic disease/injury in cardiopulmonary, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and metabolic conditions. Graduates will be eligible for registration as an allied health professional with Medicare, WorkCover NSW and private health insurers and can expect to find employment as an Exercise Physiologist working in the public and private health sectors and as part of a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; police checks are required; there are non-standard English language requirements for this course; to be eligible students must have an academic IELTS or equivalent of 7.0 with no band score below 7.0; students who have undertaken all of their education in an English speaking country (as defined on UC website) are deemed to have met the English language proficiency requirements; assumed knowledge: ACT: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods and Physics majors; NSW: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics

Upon completion of the degree graduates will be eligible to apply for membership to Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) and accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist. A number of industry qualifications are also available to students on completion of appropriate units.
