The Bachelor of Design takes a unique, multidisciplinary approach to the study of Design. It leads students to be open to innovative ways of thinking and practice. It equips them with the knowledge needed to address such issues as sustainability, climate change, globalisation, new technologies and social consciousness. The Bachelor of Design considers the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of the field of Design. It provides students with the opportunity to develop areas of expertise via a choice of majors in Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design and/or Interior Architecture. Through their chosen major, students gain specialised discipline knowledge as well as the broader problem solving and thinking skills needed to become a designer of today. By taking an elective minor in one of the other disciplines, students expand the range of design fields in which they can work. The course is characterised by project based design studio learning, integrated with technical studies and research led teaching, history and theory themes related to landscape design, product design and interior design. Entry to the Bachelor of Design is be by Interview and Portfolio Presentation and via ATAR entry score. The interview and portfolio presentation enables students with creative talent to be better identified.
