Introduction

The University of Notre Dame Australia empowers you with the fundamentals of critical thinking in a unique approach to higher education. Critical thinking is embedded in every one of our degrees, teaching you to think about and question everything and take on new ideas to enrich your decisions within and beyond your future career.

Why study with us

Notre Dame is consistently judged a top performer among all universities in Australia.

The Australian Government’s latest Student Experience Survey (SES) rates Notre Dame first in Western Australia and New South Wales for Skills Development and Learner Engagement.

The latest Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) rated the university well above the national average for Overall Satisfaction, Teaching Scale, Skills Scale, Full-time Employment, Overall Employment and Median Salary. In the latest Employers Satisfaction Survey (ESS) – which asks business and industry to have its say on the quality of graduates – Notre Dame graduates topped both WA and NSW for Employability and Adaptability.

Pastoral care is at the heart of the university’s ethos – small class sizes, one-on-one contact with academic staff, athletic and mentoring programs and counselling support. Fremantle’s CareerHub and Sydney’s Beyond the Books program provide access to career, course and work-experience guidance, career prospects and directs links to employers. Tailored support programs are provided for international, interstate and regional students.

Facilities & Services

A national Catholic University with more than 10,000 students, Notre Dame has campuses in Fremantle and Broome in WA, in Sydney, NSW and seven rural medical schools in NSW and Victoria. Our Fremantle campus is located in beautifully restored historic buildings in the beachside city, 20 minutes south of Perth. Fremantle reflects the ambience of the great European universities with leafy courtyards and cafes all forming part of the quintessential university town experience for nearly 7,000 students. Fremantle facilities include a state-of-the-art student gym and our newly renovated student hub, Prindiville Hall, offers great chill-out spaces, ping-pong and pool tables, our own NDA store and ample area for a wide variety of events held throughout the year.

Located in the vibrant heart of Sydney, our Broadway and Darlinghurst sites host more than 4,000 students. Our Broadway site, located in Sydney’s bustling inner-city university precinct, provides a welcoming social hub just walking distance from the city’s CBD and Central Station. Home to most of our schools, the Broadway site has 13 buildings located throughout the suburb of Chippendale to accommodate our growing student population. Medicine and nursing students learn in state-of-the-art facilities including simulated wards and consultation suites at our Darlinghurst site – just a stone’s throw from one of the country’s top medical facilities, St Vincent’s Hospital, public transport hubs and the iconic Darling Harbour.

Our vibrant student communities have more than two dozen student-run special interest organisations and sporting clubs including politics, medicine, education, business, social justice, rural health, indoor volleyball and soccer, basketball, touch football and badminton.

Admission & Selection

Notre Dame’s personalised approach to admissions looks beyond ATAR scores. Personal qualities, motivation to study, academic potential and contribution to school, work experience and community are also taken into account.
