Diploma of Music Industry - Sound Production


This qualification is part of the Creative Arts and Culture Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who have a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work, and/or that of a team, in their chosen field in the music industry.

Entry Requirements:

Certificate IV in Music, a Certificate IV in Screen and Media or equivalent; plus extensive vocal experience in sound production.


16 units: 4 core; 12 elective

Core: Originate and develop concepts; Manage copyright arrangements; Provide freelance services; Establish and maintain safe creative practice. Elective: Mix live audio; Manage wireless audio operations; Record sound on location; Coordinate sound recording operations on location; Develop sound designs; Produce sound recordings; Implement sound designs; Create a final sound balance; plus more.
