Certificate III in Furniture Finishing


This qualification is part of the Furnishing Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to perform a wide range of tasks associated with the preparation of surfaces and applying stains, coatings and finishes to furniture in manufacture or repair. Participation in teams, including group or team coordination, may be required.

23 units: 10 core; 13 elective

Electives: Remove surface coatings; Prepare surfaces for finishing; Maintain spray equipment and booth; Apply surface coatings by spray gun; Repair and touch up surfaces; Apply surface coatings by hand; Apply graining and decorative finishes; Apply traditional French polishing techniques; plus more.
