Certificate III in Flooring Technology

This qualification is part of the Furnishing Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to perform flooring technology tasks, including preparing flooring surfaces, including polished concrete floors; and installing and finishing carpet, resilient, vinyl and timber flooring materials and polished concrete floors.

25 units: 11 core; 14 elective

Core: Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices; Work safely; Communicate in the workplace; Work in a team; Use flooring technology sector hand and power tools; Receive and prepare floor covering materials for installation; Plan and cost flooring technology work; Establish and maintain a safe flooring technology work environment; Make measurements and calculations; Read and interpret work documents; Handle dangerous goods/hazardous substances. Electives: Install carpet tiles using custom designs; Install linoleum floor coverings; Coarse sand timber flooring; Repair timber flooring; Install hard underlays; plus more.
