The Associate Degree of Accounting will prepare students for employment in the accounting profession in Australia. The Associate Degree of Accounting aligns with industry requirements and meets the educational requirements of the Tax Practitioners' Board with regard to registration as a BAS Agent. The Associate Degree of Accounting will allow students to develop both practical skills and comprehensive knowledge to equip them for work in the accounting profession. Students will develop knowledge and skills in accounting, tax, finance, statistics, marketing and law as they apply to the accounting profession as well as the broader Australian business environment. Second year students will undertake an industry internship which will provide them with the opportunity to synthesise and apply their learning in a real workplace situation, as well as establishing valuable professional contacts.

16 subjects/units each worth 10 credit points achieving a total of 160 credit points.

  • Or 1 year of full-time university study
  • Plus all applicants must submit a 500 word essay and attend an interview

Study pathways

Students who choose to exit on completion of the first year of full time study (80 credit points) will be entitled to apply for the award of Diploma of Accounting
