This is a professional entry-level-program that aims to produce graduates who will be eligible to register as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). AEPs can provide exercise testing, preventative exercise programs and specialist rehabilitation exercise interventions for people living with chronic diseases, disability or injury. Employment may be gained in various settings including private practice with referrals from GPs, rehabilitation centres, community health, multidisciplinary allied health clinics, workplace health centres, hospitals and aged care facilities. Clinical exercise physiology is an allied health profession that is part of the Medicare and private health insurance systems.

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science or equivalent; current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR update; immunisations for working in a NSW or QLD public health facility; criminal record check; 140 hours' AAESS required practicum experience


12 units. The program includes 360 hours of clinical placements for students to gain practical experience in cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, metabolic, neuromuscular and immunological rehabilitation exercise. Specialist teaching facilities include medical technology, motion analysis laboratories, anatomy laboratories, and laboratories for strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, functional anatomy and biomechanics.

Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA). Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
