The program develops an advanced understanding of the discipline of architecture while providing a diverse set of learning experiences which are discipline specific and design focused. Its focus is on developing architectural design skills to an advanced level, on understanding research through the medium of design, and building a self-critical understanding of your own work.

Entry Requirements:

Completion of a first architectural discipline degree is a prerequisite for entry to the Master of Architecture; Bachelor of Architectural Design from RMIT with a GPA of 2.5 or above fulfils this prerequisite; a degree from another institution will need to be architecture-specific and acceptance into the Master program is merit based

Study Pathways:

The Bachelor of Architectural Design provides a pathway into this program and is also portable into professional programs in architecture with a similar structure agreement. A grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or greater will guarantee a place in this program, though those students with a GPA of less than 2.5 can still apply.

Recognition:

Completion of the 2-year Master of Architecture program, following the 3-year Bachelor degree, is required to meet the academic requirements for registration as an architect under the Architects Registration Act of Victoria, and for membership of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Professional experience is required before graduates are eligible for registration.
