This double degree program in human services and public health will allow students to develop an understanding about social, economic and environmental factors that affect public health and how this can inform professional practice in human services.

Pathways to postgraduate degrees are available. Students may be able to apply for advanced standing for part of their course, on the basis of completed or partially completed studies, and other assessable learning outcomes. QUT advanced standing rules apply.

Further information:

Blue Card and Hepatitis B vaccination prior to commencing the placement components in this course. Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Rubella, Tetanus and Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccinations are mandatory for all students attending a Queensland Health facility for placement. Hepatitis A, Influenza and Poliomyelitis are highly recommended for all Health students. QUT offers a range of scholarships that provide real support for students. Applicants who receive an OP 1-5 or equivalent are guaranteed an offer for this course in the major offer round.

Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Community Workers Association, the Public Health Association of Australia and the Australian Health Promotion Association.
