NIDA's Master of Fine Arts (Design for Performance) offers creative practitioners opportunities to explore new technologies, practices and ideas in design for a range of cultural practice including theatre, opera, dance, live performance, screen and events. During the course, students will develop the ability to make meaningful and well-informed design choices as part of a creative team as well as gaining the practical skills to plan, develop and realise an integrated theatrical design solution. The course is open to design practitioners wishing to specialise and gain a higher qualification. It incorporates practical projects, an international field trip and practice-based research to deliver a comprehensive learning experience.
Structure
15 months full-time. Subjects: Design Creation, Design Realisation, Dramaturgy, Contextualising Practice and Practice-based Research.

Standard entry requirements
- Graduate applicants seeking admission must: have an undergraduate degree in Design or related discipline or at least five years of documented professional experience in Design, preferably within a performance context
- Be fluent in spoken and proficient in written English language (8.0 IELTS or equivalent for international applicants)
