In this course you'll learn how to design water, energy, shelter and primary production systems. You'll explore engineering and ecological issues with a global perspective and ethical approach to sustainable development. This degree in Environmental Engineering will put you in high demand in energy and water utilities, government departments and corporations. Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; selection via ATAR; mature age entry via the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology; STAT; TAFE Certificate IV or higher; English language competency

Structure:

The first year of the course establish a sound foundation in Engineering, including units in mathematics, computing, chemistry and physics. Students will then undertake more advanced units in engineering concepts and specialise in their chosen discipline in the final 2 years. For some majors, students will also take units from other schools to supplement their knowledge.

If you're looking for another pathway to study this course, you could apply for the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and transfer across to this engineering major at the end of your first year of study.

Recognition:

When you graduate, you can become a graduate member of Engineers Australia. You could become a Full Chartered Professional Engineer after a further three to five years of engineering work experience.

Admission & Selection 

The path you take when you apply to Murdoch will vary depending on who you are and what you want to study. 

High school leavers:

If you’re completing high school this year, you'll need to apply through TISC. Once applications to TISC have closed, you can apply directly to Murdoch until the start of the semester.

All other applicants:

Applications can be made at any time directly to Murdoch using our online application system.

If you don’t currently meet our admission requirements, we have a range of enabling pathways, including our free enabling courses, which will qualify you to apply for any Murdoch undergraduate degree that has a minimum Selection Rank of 70.

 

Study options

Depending on your chosen course, we offer flexible study options including full-time or part-time and on-campus or online.
