Master of Clinical Pharmacy

The course is designed to enable students to advance skills in the provision of clinical pharmacy services to patients with complex clinical needs. It has a focus on evidence-based practice and quality use of medicine. The learning experience is student-driven and patient-focused. It allows you to select units related to various areas of pharmacy practice or to select a more research-focused stream where students will undertake a practice-based research project.

Entry Requirements:

Entry level 1: 72 points (12 units) to complete: An Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent in Pharmacy and registration as a pharmacist. Entry level 2: 48 points (8 units) to complete: An Australian undergraduate honours degree or equivalent in Pharmacy and registration as a pharmacist.

Structure:

Students have the option of completing the course through either: the coursework stream OR the coursework and research stream. In the coursework stream, students will select units to suit their interest and career aspirations. These studies cover aspects of pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy, health-care related economics and wound care. If students are a pharmacist looking to include a practice-based research project in their study, the coursework and research stream will help them gain specialist clinical knowledge in addition to advanced skills in research and clinical pharmacy practice.

Study Pathways:

Whilst all students will be enrolled in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy, students may exit the course early and apply to graduate with one of the following awards provided all the requirements are met: Graduate Certificate of Pharmacy Practice; Graduate Diploma of Pharmacy Practice.
