The Bachelor of Biomedical Science helps you understand disease, how it occurs and how we can prevent it to better improve quality of life. This multidisciplinary course offers units relating to biomedical chemistry, bioinformatics and human genetics. Graduates of this course will pursue careers in research, teaching, health promotion and much more.

Structure

The course provides an interdisciplinary approach to study of biomedical science, with five central themes: molecular and cellular biology, body systems, infection and immunity, disease and society, and diagnostic and research tools. These themes are interwoven in units throughout the course.

The three-year Bachelor degree leads to an honours year. Dean's Rural List - Applicants from a rural background should check their eligibility for the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences Deans Rural List. Timely VTAC applicants will receive information via email inviting them to submit relevant information to be considered for the Dean's Rural List. If deemed eligible applicants for the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Science Scholars receive additional consideration based on their rural background and it could increase your chance of entry to the course.
