The Graduate Diploma of International Relations is designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of the political, social, economic and legal components and processes of the international system. There is an emphasis on understanding how these components and institutions operate in specific regions of the world. Eligible students have an opportunity to gain work experience through an internship in an approved institution and to credit this to their degree. This is a subset of the Master of International Relations and allows students to undertake a program of multi-disciplinary, postgraduate study but it entails a lesser commitment than that required for the masters program. Upon successful completion students may decide to proceed to the full masters program.
