Chiropractic is the third largest primary health profession today. Chiropractors recognise the importance of body structures and how they affect our health. They use spinal adjustments, manipulation and other physical means to assist the inherent recuperative powers of the body in the restoration and the maintenance of health. Chiropractors use a range of diagnostic tools including X-ray. The Bachelor of Chiropractic Science aims to teach a wide range of chiropractic diagnostic and manipulative skills in the context of anatomical, physiological and biomedical sciences. It provides the prerequisite academic background to enable students to apply for entry into the Master of Chiropractic which is required for professional registration.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; HSC Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics are recommended studies for chiropractic units although introductory units and bridging courses are available for students without this background


72 credit points; minimum 48 credit points at 200 level or above; minimum 18 credit points at 300 level or above

The Bachelor of Chiropractic Science is designed to provide the prerequisite academic background to enable students to apply for entry into the Master of Chiropractic which is required for professional registration. The Bachelor degree program also provides a good basis for students who are interested in pursuing a career in health care fields, particularly areas requiring scientific and diagnostic knowledge. This course is offered in Session 1 only.


Students need to undertake the Master of Chiropractic at the completion of this course to practice as a chiropractic practitioner. The combined program has national and international recognition.
