Our Master of Biotechnology Management helps you build a unique skillset for the future by combining biotechnology and business management expertise. Work in state-of-the-art facilities, then graduate with the skills and experience to launch your global career. In your first year, you'll learn the fundamentals of management and marketing, exploring real-life examples in a diverse range of organisational contexts. From there, you'll explore the area of bio-business management and discover how to produce and market a virtual product. You'll be taught by leading industry experts as you examine areas such as molecular modelling software, proteomics and genomics. Gain theoretical knowledge in a range of advanced scientific technologies, including CRISPR-mediated gene editing, next generation sequencing and mass spectrometry.

Structure

To qualify for the award of Master of Biotechnology Management, students must complete 240 credit points consisting of: 225 core credit-points 15 elective credit points

Standard entry requirements

  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Specialisation - compulsory: Science, Bioscience, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or a related field.
  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - WAM - Weighted Average Mark (WAM) 60%
  • International: IELTS - 6.5 < 6.0 (PG minimum) - 6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.

Students may choose to transfer to the 2 year (4 semester) Master of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics if they prefer to focus on research.
