This program is designed to introduce healthcare workers and managers to the formal study of health services management. It provides key competencies in health services management and an understanding of health policy and management concepts. Students will examine the healthcare sector and the policy context that managers work in, while developing the key skills and knowledge for effective management.

Students must complete 2 core subjects and 2 elective subjects. The program offers a combination of evening, block and online modes.

Standard entry requirements
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent and at least two years of professional experience in the health system
- NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place
- Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
Recognition
Recognised by the Australasian College of Health Service Management.
Study pathways
Students who enrol in the Graduate Certificate may apply to progress to the Master of Health Sciences. The Graduate Certificate will be subsumed upon completion of the higher qualification.
