Further information

There is considerable evidence of a substantial projected need for qualified health data auditors throughout the healthcare sector. These categories are: Clinical Coding Auditors, who must have a deep knowledge of, and experience in, the specialised ICD-10-AM classification; and Health Data Auditors, who may have a more general interest in the analysis and auditing of non-coded health data in any area of the healthcare system. There is a very urgent need for currently practising health information managers and health information manager-clinical coders to upskill in the specialised areas of health data and clinical coding auditing in order to meet hospitals and governments requirements for accurate, verified ICD-10-AM and other health data within the activity-based funding, evidence-based medicine and research, population health, and digital health environments throughout the Australian healthcare sector.
