This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It meets the needs of specialist demolition workers who dismantle and demolish public, residential, commercial and industrial buildings of all types, and process the resulting materials for salvage, recycling and waste disposal.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education


18 units: 8 core; 10 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Read and interpret plans and specifications; Work safely at heights; Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies; Demolish small buildings and structures using hand tools and small plant and equipment; Select and use tools and equipment for hot work in the demolition industry; plus more. Electives: Carry out measurements and calculations; Use explosive power tools; Manage demolition recyclable and waste materials using load shifting equipment; Operate mobile plant on suspended floors on demolition sites; Operate personnel and materials hoists; plus more.

Study Pathways:

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Further information:

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
