This degree will facilitate the advanced development of disciplinary knowledge in the area of language acquisition, as well as the area of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Students will investigate classroom issues related to TESOL and critique second language teaching methodologies. Students also identify research trends in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages.

Structure

Students complete three core (compulsory) topics and thirteen option topics chosen from an extensive range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide students with the necessary understanding of methodology and pedagogy principles and practice, as well as intercultural communication and linguistics. Students will be provided with the basic tools to explore current theories and pedagogy in language teaching. It provides the opportunity for students to further their knowledge in interest areas.
