This degree provides an introduction to the traditions of thought and analysis that have been used to discuss and illuminate matters of educational policy and practice and offers educational topics of particular value or interest to the student including educational research methods topics.

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification.


This is a 72-unit program where students complete two core (compulsory) topics and fourteen option topics chosen from an extensive range of option topics available making it possible for students to create their own program of study depending on their interests.

Applicants who hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in education, teaching or a closely related discipline may be eligible to complete a program of 54-units. For example the Graduate Certificate in Education or equivalent qualification should apply for the Master of Education (1.5 years) (2CM162).
