This degree aims to enable Physiotherapists to deepen their knowledge base and skills in neurological physiotherapy practice. In addition, students will have the opportunity to develop research or practice expertise in an area of neurological physiotherapy and to apply this to a specific research or evidence-based practice project.

Structure

  • Students complete six core (compulsory) topics and either a dissertation or clinical research as well as an option topic chosen from a range of topics available. These topics aim to provide students with the opportunity to review the principles and practice of neurological rehabilitation, with a focus on neurological physiotherapy, and apply these to contemporary practice
  • and enable practitioners to analyse and apply evidence-based practice in neurological physiotherapy.Students will undertake professional experience placement as part of the course. Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification plus a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent post-degree work experience in a relevant clinical discipline by the commencement date of the course
  • Or hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or equivalent qualification.In addition, all applicants must be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority as a Physiotherapist, and maintain this registration for the duration of their study in the degree.Applicants must provide details of their work experience in physiotherapy in their SATAC application.
