This degree provides all the educational and training requirements necessary for admission to legal practice. The degree seeks to provide the skills and knowledge needed to embark upon a career as a practising lawyer but was also created in the knowledge that not all graduates want, or are able, to work as barristers or solicitors.

Structure:

The degree comprises core (compulsory) topics covering the major areas of law. Practical skills are developed from the beginning of the degree and are linked to compulsory topics. The range of option topics allows students to develop specialist interests. Students who do not wish to be admitted to legal practice may exit the degree with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) after successfully completing three years of full-time equivalent study. The degree incorporating practical training requirements (LLB/LP) is usually six months longer.
