This professional course provides students with the skills and knowledge required for career paths in accounting. Students undertake foundation studies in a range of business topics, then focus on advanced studies in accounting, finance and commercial law topics to develop a sound understanding of the accounting function. Elective topics can be chosen from other business specialisations offered by the Flinders Business School and the University to broaden students' educational experience.

Year 12 or equivalent qualifications, mature age entry (STAT), TAFE/VET qualifications, higher education transfers or completion of a foundation studies program

Structure:

The first year includes the core topics of Accounting Principles, Information Systems, Quantitative Methods, Law for Business, Economics for Business, and Management, People and Organisations. Across all years, students complete a specialisation in accounting, and in final year, students complete the capstone topic Governance, Sustainability and Ethics.
