In order to be eligible to apply for provisional registration as a psychologist, students are required to complete a four-year psychology degree or equivalent. The Bachelor of Science (Psychology) is designed to allow students who already hold a bachelor degree in another area to complete the equivalent of the first three years of this requirement. Students will gain a broad knowledge of the discipline of psychology and its applications, including major theoretical perspectives within the discipline. In addition, they will learn about the range of core research areas that make up the scientific discipline of psychology and the research methodologies and statistical techniques commonly used by researchers for information gathering and analysis. They will be able to apply that knowledge when undertaking research activities.

A completed bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or equivalent. English language requirements apply.


24 units (144 credit points) or 12 units (72 credit points) with recognition of prior learning.

Study Pathways:

Upon completion of this course, students will be eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology or Master of Professional Psychology to gain accreditation as a registered Psychologist.
