The Bachelor of Psychological Science will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the discipline of psychology. Throughout the course students will develop a broad knowledge of psychology and its applications, including theoretical perspectives within the discipline and an appreciation of the social and cultural contexts of psychological research and professional practice. Core topics provide students with a broad knowledge of psychology, including perspectives from developmental, social, personality, clinical and forensic psychology.

Year 12 or equivalent; QTAC: English (4, SA); UAC: English (Standard, Band 2); VTAC: Units 3 and : a study score of at least 25 in any English.

Study Pathways:

Upon completion of this course, students may undertake an honours year of study followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology or Master of Professional Psychology to gain accreditation as a registered Psychologist.

Further information:

Should students complete the Bachelor of Psychological Science course with a GPA of 5.5 or above they may be offered a place in the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) course. This will prepare students for conditional registration as psychologists in Australia, as well as for coursework and/or research higher degree studies in psychology.

Recognition:

This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). Associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society. Conditional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia requires completion of an honours year following this course.
