The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Control and Instrumentation) and Bachelor of Information Technology (Application Development) is a dual degree that will equip students with the skills to become a control and instrumentation engineer skilled in both high-level engineering design, and software and hardware implementation of engineering systems. Students will develop skills in problem solving, teamwork and professional practice together with learning foundational technical content. Students will complete work-integrated learning and complete a major individual project that integrates both control and instrumentation knowledge and information and communication technology knowledge to confirm the students ability to work as a control and instrumentation, and software engineer.

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent
  • Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent. English language requirements apply.

Recognition

Provisional accreditation will be sought from Engineers Australia and Australian Computer Society for the dual degree when CQUniversity governance processes are completed.

Exit award: Diploma of Engineering Studies; Diploma of Information and Communications Technology.

Most units within this course are only available to study online. Some units require students to attend residential school. Students are required to complete 480 hours (including a minimum of 240 hours of industry experience) of Engineering Professional Practice prior to graduation.
