Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

Coates Training Services

This unit is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It supports the attainment of the basic OHS knowledge required prior to undertaking designated work tasks within any of the sectors in the construction industry. It requires the ability to identify and explain OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

No minimum education

Subjects you can Study:

Identify OHS legislative requirements; Identify construction hazards and control measures; Identify OHS communication and reporting processes; Identify OHS incident response procedures.

Further information:

It relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2006). Licensing requirements will apply to this unit of competency depending on the regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction.

Training can be carried out at the provider's facilities located in major capital cities, in branch locations throughout Australia, or at the site of the client (dependent on trainee numbers).
