You must have one of the following qualifications:Bachelor of Veterinary ScienceBachelor of Chiropractic ScienceMaster of ChiropracticBachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy)You must also:be registered to practice your original profession (veterinary science, chiropractic or osteopathy) in the geographic area in which you practicedemonstrate a level of experience with a minimum of 2 years in full-time practicehave a high degree of physical agility and moderate strengthhave a command of the English language, with oral and written communication skills and a high level of computer proficiency.You will need to complete an application form and participate in a selection interview.PRE-TRAINING REVIEWTo assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Box Hill Institute will assess all students’ language, literacy and numeracy and digital literacy by asking you to undertake a self-assessment review prior to the enrolment.A course advisor will discuss the outcomes of the review and make recommendations about whether the course is suitable for you, and identify additional support where required.

Structure

Blended delivery is by attendance at 8 x 4-day workshops, work based and on-line learning. The course is supported by recommended texts and online resources. Each workshop delivers practical skill sets as learners progress through the course. Assessments may include online quizzes, written assignments, case studies, and practical demonstrations.Course structure allows for interstate and NZ students to complete this course through the block release workshop.You will study 10 units in this course.

Study pathways

Animal biomechanical medicine practitioners are generally employed in private practice, either as sole practitioners or within group practices. Chiropractors and osteopaths often maintain their human practice with an additional animal component.Completion of this course will also enable you to apply for membership of the ABPA.
