The Bachelor of Actuarial Science is an innovative and immersive program that combines elements of economics, finance, statistics, data analytics and advanced mathematics to develop techniques for the management of risk and business decision making. Developed by Executive Dean Terry O'Neill, one of Australia's leading academic authorities in the field, the Bachelor of Actuarial Science at Bond delivers smaller classes for personalised attention and unparalleled access to state-of-the-art facilities including the Macquarie Trading Room and Bloomberg data-sourcing terminals. Bond is the only university in Queensland to offer the fully accredited program by the Actuaries Institute.

Entry Requirements:

Successful completion of Year 12, with a score of OP6 or ATAR 89 and knowledge of Mathematics B or equivalent


University Core Subjects: Critical Thinking and Communication; Leadership and Team Dynamics; Ethical Thought and Action; Beyond Bond: Professional Development and Community Engagement Program. Core Subjects: Accounting for Decision Making; Mathematical Statistics; Financial Mathematics; Insurance Models; Contingencies; Advanced Modelling; Principles of Economics; Econometrics; Contemporary Macroeconomics Issues; Fundamentals of Finance; Corporate Finance; Portfolio Analysis and Investment Management; Financial Markets and Institutions; Options and Futures; Quantitative Methods. Students must choose six (6) elective subjects or complete a Major of their choice.
