Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Design

Billy Blue College of Design

This brand new suite of design and business double degrees are aimed at students who are struggling to decide whether to pursue a career in the creative or business industries or have dreams of wanting to start their own creative business. Students graduate in as little as just three years so they can start their career as soon as possible. Studying a double degree gives students a flexible range of skills to explore different career options and obtain a unique and broad set of skills to put them ahead in their career. The combination of a 'safe', traditional business degree and a degree in design with their preferred specialisation, offers students the flexibility to pursue multiple career paths upon graduation and gives them the skills, knowledge, and confidence to launch their own creative business or go after leading roles in established agencies. Hybrid roles are the way of the future, and the double degree will equip students with the necessary know-how to be able to operate in a business centric role like marketing, however with the skillset to execute and manage creative requirements.

All higher education courses include real-life industry experience helping you graduate with a shining portfolio and critical industry contacts.

Billy Blue at TUA produces creative thinkers - giving you the chance to acquire the relevant design skills, collaborate with the design industry’s leading talents, and gain practical experience along the way. We insist that our students challenge convention and go against the status quo to unlock a world of inspiration and opportunity where imagination is your secret weapon. Your specialist education is delivered by designers, for designers. Tapping into your career potential, and opening your mind to what is possible, is what excites us most.

As part of the Billy Blue philosophy to produce design graduates who have had the opportunity to stretch, grow and connect to the industry, we offer an Internship Program to all of our bachelor degree students. You can apply to complete an internship during your studies – some of these may even earn you course credit towards your degree.

Internships at Billy Blue are realised through many means including the BB Hatch Internship program, dedicated internship subjects embedded within courses and participation in external internship schemes run by our industry partners.

For over 25 years, Billy Blue has been a vibrant community of design practice. Our college is a cluster of young designers and experienced design educators who are fully connected with today’s working industry. Our mission is the same as it was when we began: to be part of a family of designers who can rely on each other to navigate the way forward and share opportunities and livelihood.
