Year 12 level, or equivalent. NSW Prerequisites: English (Standard) (Band 2) or English (Advanced) (Band 2) or EAL (Band 3). NSW Recommended Studies: Personal Development, Health and Physical education (PDHPE); Mathematics plus one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics; VIC Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; and a study score of at least 25 in one of Biology, Chemistry, any Mathematics, Physical Education, Physics or Psychology.
Structure:
320 credit points. In the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, students are required to complete 140 hours of appropriate professional experience (practicum) with accurate record-keeping, as part of course accreditation requirements.

Graduates are also eligible for admission to: postgraduate studies in Clinical Exercise Physiology courses, if seeking Exercise Physiology accreditation; postgraduate studies in High Performance Sport; one-year Honours courses, for meritorious students preparing for higher degree research; higher degree studies in Education, if seeking teacher registration (dependent on elective choices and campus/state of study); further study in other allied health professions; further study in nutrition/dietetics (dependent on elective choices).

Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation: This new degree has 'qualifying accreditation' status with Exercise and Sports Science Australia for the Strathfield and Melbourne campuses. This is the first step towards a full accreditation application at the Exercise Scientist level for graduates in the program from 2019. (Full accreditation also means that the course is approved as providing the appropriate knowledge and skills to enter our postgraduate Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology course). This course is currently accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) as a suitable program of study for the purpose of registration as a psychologist. Please note that after completion of an APAC accredited undergraduate degree, a further minimum of three years education and training in psychology are required to register as a psychologist in Australia.
